Support Services are services provided to students in the schools in Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale, and Fulton that are receiving the Relationship Smarts PLUS 3.0 curriculum. Our facilitators will make referrals based on the students that have been randomly assigned to receive the instruction and their parents have consented to the program. The students we will be referred to from the facilitators are students that are assessed as being high risk due to any concerning changes in their attitudes, knowledge, and behavior. Our responsibility is to meet the students where they are at, assess for their job skills and personal needs, create a plan, and make referrals in the community to help strengthen the individual and the family unit. Support Services Team includes: Resource Mother, 2 Case Managers, 2 Career Specialists

Case Management

Aneesah El-Amin | Case Manager|Email

Aneesah began her professional career with MTCI in 2015. She is a 2008 B.S graduate of Georgia Southern University and 2015 MSW graduate of Clark Atlanta University. Aneesah began her career in social work indirectly by volunteering as a mentor at middle schools in Savannah, GA and working with the MH/MR/SA in Statesboro, GA while in college.  Following her path of working with youth she enrolled back into school to obtain a Masters in Teaching Middle Grades, but she realized her passion was much deeper than teaching. In the fall of 2013, she pursued her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Families and Children. Working as a substitute teacher in DeKalb County for 3 years and interning in the school system, she realized that the youth she taught and mentored suffered. They were not only suffering in the home from lack of resources and knowledge of accessible resources which impacted their school life.

As a case manager for MTCI, she is referred students by the educators and assess the students for their needs. She also provides resources from childcare to housing to free and low cost clinics to families and children in the following counties: Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton and Fulton counties.

Darlene Boyland | Community Resource Mother |Email

Knowing the hardships first hand of being a teen mom fuels my compassion to assist teen parents and expectant teen parents in any way possible. Suppling teens with resources such as WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps, CAPS, and any other resource to help the students finish school and maintain a secure, stable, and healthy environment for themselves and their child. I also provide a listening ear, parenting skills, mentorship, and encouragement throughout the pregnancy and after delivery. The new moms also receives a gift from More than Conquerors, Inc. for the baby after returning home. To enhance the student’s relationship skills, they have the option to participate in life skills classes that I teach to help equip them to make healthier choices in their relationship. I’m also required to document all interaction with students, and maintain updated files of all students.
